Changing things up with a Wednesday blog post. Not intentional, I was under the weather the last few days and could not be assed to write something up.

The upside to being home sick (the only upside at that) is having time to lay on the couch and get some cross stitch done. There was a temporary halt to my progress because I somehow managed to break the wooden hoop (big hands, too strong) but my lovely husband saved the day by ordering more supplies to my house.

I will say the left side looks a bit crooked and wonky but I’m trusting the process here. How can a pattern steer me wrong?

Moving on to some other hobby update: I finished Mass Effect 1!!! And it was fantastic. I started the second game immediately after and I almost miss the slightly janky combat from the first game. Definitely a series that is becoming important to me. I can already see myself making some inspired art.

Second and final hobby update: I’m a big child at heart.

Probably not a surprise to anyone who knows me. I have a very special interest of online pet games and also a special interest of stuffed animals. Now that I am an adult with adult time and adult money I can finally get into something I have longed after since I was a child. Webkinz!!! Its the best of both worlds.

Webkinz are sooo cool. Genuinely. I’m of course talking about old school Webkinz and not whatever new thing they are trying out right now. The stuffed animals they used to make are so freaking cute. I can almost remember the ones my friends had- or the ones I would see online and beg my parents for (they always said no lol). Being able to look at these plushies now at my grown age and knowing that they are not unreachable (and I can buy them) feels almost healing to my inner child.

Anyway, I might be acquiring two (or more.) If you’re my husband you didn’t read that. Looking forward to starting my Webkinz journey soon.
