Greetings. I have actually been back and capable of writing a blog post for 2 weeks now, I’ve just had a lot of stuff happening in my life.
I had to do a temporary diet change for wellness reasons, and I also quit drinking energy drinks- which I have been very much addicted to for a big chunk of my life. All in the name of self-improvement I suppose.
As much as I would have liked to wallow in my own misery for the last 2 weeks, I made small efforts not to let it get that bad. In fact, I have been reading and playing games more than ever. I’ll take the win wherever I can.
…
Don’t panic.
Wise words provided by the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy- a book I just re-read. The funny thing is I DO panic, a lot. I’m a nervous wreck these days thinking about what’s to come instead of just living in the now. Maybe I just need to keep repeating those words in my head over and over and keep a tight grip on my towel.
Another book I just read (devoured is the better word, that book did NOT stand a chance) is Summers at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn. Not my first book by Shinn but definitely my favourite as of now. What a gorgeous book. It reminded me of everything that I LOVE about the fantasy genre. I have intentions of seeking out more of that kind. A book rich in folklore, fairytales, and beautiful lyrical story telling. The romance was sweet and not the center of the plot, something I greatly appreciate.
Anyway.
My husband has taken over as the creative person in our family. While he spends time drawing I spend my time neglecting my art and playing hella video games. I’m sure the call will come and I will answer soon. Just not today. Or tomorrow. I’m way too into My Time at Sandrock. Once I finally get through the main story I vow to do a tiny bit of art. I just need time.

And my last ramble:
My niece is really into BBC’s Sherlock at the moment. It’s really funny seeing history repeat itself. She makes me re-live my cringey teen years quite often. I remember making my tumblr blog back in 2011 and I couldn’t find a background that suited my interests, so I made one myself. It was a repeating pattern of some drawings I did of Sherlock and Loki.
I was cringe but I was free.
That’s all I have to say today. I’ll be back next week to resume the torment.
